FSSAI Registration
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is responsible for regulating and supervising food safety in India. Any business involved in the manufacture, storage, distribution, or sale of food products must obtain FSSAI registration or a license.
Types of FSSAI Registration
- Basic Registration: For small food businesses with an annual turnover of up to INR 12 lakhs.
- State License: For medium-sized food businesses with an annual turnover between INR 12 lakhs and INR 20 crores.
- Central License: For large food businesses with an annual turnover exceeding INR 20 crores or for businesses involved in import/export of food products.
Steps for FSSAI Registration
- Determine Eligibility: Identify whether your business requires a Basic Registration, State License, or Central License.
- Document Preparation:
- Completed and signed Form A (for Basic Registration) or Form B (for State/Central License).
- Passport-sized photograph of the applicant.
- Proof of identity (e.g., Aadhaar card, Voter ID).
- Proof of address (e.g., utility bill, rental agreement).
- Business constitution certificate (e.g., partnership deed, incorporation certificate).
- List of food products to be dealt with.
- Food safety management plan (if applicable).
- Proof of possession of premises (e.g., rental agreement, sale deed).
- NOC from the municipality or local body.
- Import/export code (if applicable).
